Now Showing

The last several months have been productive on the photography front. I'm creating more, which is wonderful in and of itself. I'm also putting my current work out there more, which is creating some wonderful opportunities. From April through June of this year, my work has been shown in four exhibitions in different parts of the country. They are lovely exhibitions and I'm honored to be included with such talented artists.

Check the exhibitions out here:

Then.Now.Here Exhibition in Portland (with selections by Laura Valenti Jelen and Laura Moya of photolucida)
Magic Exhibition at A Smith Gallery in Johnston City, Texas (with selections by Fran Forman)
•The Fact and Fantasy Exhibition at The Kiernan Gallery in Lexington, Virginia (with selections by Melanie Craven of Tilt Gallery)
•The Dreams: Illusion and Fantasy Exhibition at Black Box Gallery in Portland (with selections by Jessica Johnson of George Eastman House)

The Make Believe and Spooky Exhibitions

I'm pleased to have my work included in exhibitions on either coast during the months of October and November that celebrate the dreamlike and the spooky.  The Make Believe Exhibition hanging at the Darkroom Gallery in Essex, Vermont and the Spooky Exhibition hanging at Lightbox Gallery in Astoria, Oregon are both worth spending some time with. Check 'em out!

Now Showing at Blackbox Gallery.....

I'm pleased to announce that my image, And the World Awaits, will be showing in Blackbox Gallery's online exhibition of Contemporary Portraiture throughout the month of September. The exhibition was juried by Christy Karpinski, (founder and editor of F-Stop Magazine) and I am honored to have my image included among other contemporary photographers' work!

I've spent a lot of time ignoring this blog over the last 6 months. Well, make that ignoring two photography blogs: the other that I have with fellow photographer Marico Fayre who has kindly pointed out that my persistent absence on our project has begun to make her look like a narcissist. (She's right. I've fallen off that project. Hard. Ouch.)

So, in an effort to get back in the blogging saddle, I'm happy to announce that it's officially Portland Photo Month! There are so many openings and events in this town over the month of April, it's crazy (I'm exhausted in advance) and I'm pleased that my work will be shown at different locales in Portland as part of the celebration.

Two of my images will be shown in the Then.Now.Here. exhibit that will be screening around Portland during the month of April including this one:

If you can't catch a particular screening, it is being shown on a continuous slideshow in the window of Blue Sky Gallery throughout the month! Another of my pieces will be shown at Black Box Gallery during the month of April as well.

So here's to blogging and Portland Photo Month!

Two weeks ago, I had the wonderful experience of photographing for PERVERT the CIRQUE, the new queer and kinky circus based in Portland. If you enjoy things off the beaten path (as I do) keep your eyes open for more dates and times at a venue near you.

A special thanks to all the performers who so graciously allowed me to follow them around on their special opening night. I look forward to more Pervert the Cirque!

Ode to US Politics

The inane-ness leading up to the election is upon us. Canada is looking better and better all the time.
